Our team of development and outreach professionals are driven to attract real resources to the eastside of Buffalo. We work to visibly and significantly improve the quality of life for the neighbors that work, live, and play in our beloved community.
Before being placed at the helm of the CAI, my love for community development on the east side led me to college at Buffalo State University, where I pursued a degree in business education. My parents owned a community deli, which I worked in since I was 10 yrs old. I was very aware of the concerns in my community because I saw and dealt with many community concerns affecting different families for years. After which I worked various jobs, welding at Fedco Automotive for about 11 years, Nichter Construction as a laborer, I learned to finish concrete, drywall, frame work, etc. After being hurt on the job, I retired.
Never being able to sit still, I joined the board at Citizens Alliance Inc. as a board member some 20 years ago. Eventually, I resigned as a board member and became the Executive Director of the organization. I was called to continue the advocacy work of the CAI.
Today, I can say with certainty that the eastside is at the precipice of real and lasting change. CAI is committed to improving our neighborhoods one house at a time and one business at a time until we achieve our goal of providing affordable housing for low to moderate income families and fostering generational wealth for the people on the eastside of Buffalo.
